Map Reference : NO752940
Age : Circa.2500BC
Nearest Landmark : Cairnfauld Farm
Location :
Through Cairnfauld farm, circle not visable from road, ontop of the hill
Other Details :
Circle may have been about 10 meters in diameter
The farmer told of how the circle had been damaged many years ago prior to his
tenancy.
Only three stones now recognisable as part of what was once a large circle (the
picture
shows the recumbent and one surviving flanker), some stones piled up close by
could
have been removed during clearance of the site for agricultural use.
A stone forming part of a nearby farm building was probably taken from the circle
( as told
to the farmer by visiting archaeologists some years ago).
